Canada hopes to do away with a dubious record at the first day of the Vancouver Games.
Canada is the only country not to win a gold medal at its own Games in either Montreal in 1976 or Calgary in 1988.
Bayshore Broadcasting News asked a few people in our area how many medals they think Canada will win at this winter olympics.
There were estimates anywhere from 10 to 21 medals.
One man said he’d just be happy if we got atleast one gold and a woman tells us she hopes the games meet the athletes’ expectations so no one goes home disappointed.
