Baywest Toyota in Owen Sound has been busy dealing with its automaker’s recall.
General Manager Randy Ewart says they have taken hundreds of calls and have plans to fix hundreds of vehicles.
But he says it is manageable at the moment and there is no backlog.
In fact — Ewart says they should be able to fix the problem in about 15 minutes.
Ewart says they are asking people with recalled models to come in right away and there is no appointment necessary to fix the problem.
The affected Toyota models include the 2009 and 2010 Corolla, Matrix and RAV4 — and now the 2010 Prius is under a recall due to brake problems.
Ewart says if any Toyota owner has a question about the recall or their vehicle — they can call the dealership at 519-371-2981.
Auto analysts anticipate the problems will lead to a drop in sales in Toyota vehicles.
But Ewart says they are coming off a strong finish to 2009 and they are anticipating a strong spring sales period.
Ewart also says trade in values for Toyota’s should not drop and he will offer the same amount of money for a Toyota today as he would have two months ago.
