A Blyth native — who combined dating and baking into a new cookbook — is appearing on the Dragon’s Den on CBC tonight and has won an international cookbook award.
Erin Bolger began as a make-up artist for shows like Breakfast Television and So You Think You Can Dance Canada before being inspired to write a cookbook.
But her cookbook is not your usual collection of recipes.
Bolger describes herself as an emotional baker, and says most of her stress is caused by men which naturally lead her to write “The Happy Baker – A Dater’s Guide to Emotional Baking.”
Recipes in the book include “My Mom Didn’t Like You Anyway Cupcakes” and “Who Needs a Man on Valentines Day Biscotti.”
Bolger will appear on CBC’s The Dragon’s Den on Wednesday night.
But she won’t get to see the pre-recorded episode.
Folger says she’ll be on a plane to Paris to accept the Gourmand World Cookbook – Best Canadian Dessert CookBook award.
If you want to pick up a copy of her book, it’s available at Fincher’s in Goderich and Kincardine.
