It looks like some police officers are still being somewhat lenient when it comes to the new Distracted Driver Law.
The new Law came into effect October 26th of 2009 – whereby anyone caught using a handheld device while driving came with a warning.
It pertains to cellphones among other things.
Starting last Monday February 1st, anyone caught was to be fined 155 dollars.
Fifty such tickets were handed out in the first week alone.
OPP however also issued 71 warnings across the province — indicating you may get a second chance to change your bad habits.
