The new CEO of Bruce Telecom admits 2009 was a rough year financially, but they’re ready to take on 2010.
That was the message Eric Dobson brought to Kincardine Council last night.
Dobson says though, everyone at Bruce Telecom is going to have to buy into the plan.
He says there’s already been a management change and management and the board have agreed to salary reductions of three per cent for 2010.
Dobson says the same concept has been presented to union and non-union staff as well.
However the union staff would be taking a bigger hit.
He says by contract, the union staff has a 3.5 per cent wage increase coming in 2010.
He’s asked that the increased be waived and a further 3 per cent decrease in salary be put in force with the guarantee that all monies saved would be re-invested in the company to get it back on track.
Dobson says he has yet to hear from union and non-union staff.
Meanwhile, he says the company is on the right path to not only survive but thrive in 2010.
