A special honour for the Owen Sound Police Service.
The department received an award as the highest grossing service in Zone 5 for the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Owen Sound Police raised 27 thousand dollars over the last fiscal year.
Zone 5 includes a large section of southwestern Ontario — including Bruce, Perth, Dufferin, Simcoe and Wellington Counties as well as Waterloo Region.
The Owen Sound Police Service was also recognized last year with the Torch Award for fundraising over one million dollars over the past decade.
The next Torch Run fundraiser for the Special Olympics will be the 11th annual Polar Bear Dip on Saturday March 20th.
