The weather has cooperated, the course has been constructed and now the 2010 Tim Hortons Georgian Cup is ready to roar at Victoria Park in Owen Sound.
The annual stop on the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) begins Saturday morning and runs through the weekend.
There are a variety of divisions and categories featuring drivers of every age, size and description.
The highlight event will be the Georgian Cup Finale which is set for Sunday afternoon at 4 PM.
With the swing to positive weather for snowcross racing in Owen Sound, Race Co-Chair Peter van Dolder believes there will be a tremendous number of competitors.
Last weekend, the CSRA had more than 600 drivers entered and van Dolder believes they can top that number of participants this weekend.
van Dolder says there’s great rising and racing at every level, but he’s most excited about the Pro Division.
He says the field of Pro competitors is very deep which means the Georgian Cup is wide open with no clear favorite heading into the weekend.
