A few Simcoe County catholic schools are getting some government help to install wind turbines.
The announcement was made yesterday at St. Mary’s School in Collingwood.
Five schools in Simcoe Muskoka and three Durham region catholic schools will be installing the turbines in the spring at a total cost of just over 494 thousand dollars.
The project is part of the Ministry of Education’s plan to buy, test and showcase new and innovative green technology.
The turbines will cut down the schools’ energy costs and will help teach the students about green alternatives.
