2009 was a good year for tourism in South Bruce.
The 20 member committee that oversees various efforts to bring visitors to the municipality was involved in a number of activities.
Chair Shirley Kuntz says the biggest event was the Father’s Day antique tractor tour.
She says the new September event, an open doors tour of all 12 churches in the municipality, plus the Teeswater Town Hall worked out great.
Committee member John Benninger says people came from Toronto, London, and Chatham for the tractor tour.
Kuntz says they’re already making plans for the next Formosa Reunion in 2011.
She says the last weekend of July that year will feature a big parade on the Saturday, a beard growing contest, and a similar format to past reunions.
The committee hopes South Bruce Council decides to contribute money to tourism again in the 2010 budget.
