Owen Sound Police are investigating the theft of a van and another break-in at a convenience store on the citys east side.
Sometime early Friday, thieves broke into the Clarks’ of Silicote convenience store at 12th Street and 3rd Avenue East.
They stole a quantity of cigarettes and lottery tickets before fleeing the store.
An employee discovered the break-in around 6 AM.
A short time later, a van was reported stolen during the night from 8th avenue east.
Around Noon friday, police spotted the stolen van and recovered some of the items taken in the theft.
Owen Sound Police Inspector Stephen MacKinnon says they are investigating whether this break-in is related to one at the Owen Sound Milk Convenience store earlier this month.
MacKinnon says there some similarities between the two store break-ins.
