Owen Sound is one step closer to having a new corporate identity and marketing strategy.
Saj Jamil is with e-solutions of Waterloo, the firm hired by the city to develop the new corporate marketing identity.
He says the latest move is an on line survey to find out what the people of Owen Sound consider to be the cities outstanding assets.
Jamil says developing this corporate image not only will attract new residents to the city, but could very well encourage young people who have left for jobs elsewhere to return to their home town to live.
He says they also will be talking to people in Owen Sound’s neighbouring communities to see what they feel is the cities strongest points.
Jamil says once the survey has been completed by as many people as possible, e-solutions will develop a positioning statement that will identify that unique niche that will make Owen Sound stand out from other communities of a similar size in Ontario.
He says after that the creative people will then work on a tag line and visual identity for the city, which should be ready to be presented to Council in about one and a half months time.
