Current work on Chesley’s sewers will be done mid February.
Arran Elderslie Councillor and Public Works Chair Mark Davis says they are lining them right now with new technology.
The goal is to repair damages in some two thousand metres of line.
Davis says not only is the method less expensive because it does not require replacing the sewer but it is less disruptive to residents as well.
In fact, officials from Saugeen Shores and other municipalities in Bruce and Grey have gone to see the work first hand, it’s so cutting edge.
Meanwhile, Davis says they are still excited for the “Big Dig” this year in Chesley.
Council will try to go after 1.3 million dollars in funding from the province for one-third the four-million dollar project yet again.
The municipality has been denied five times – the federal government has committed to a third.
Davis calls this more than disappointing because further problems could result if the massive road, water and sewer project was not done.
