The answer has arrived.
A group — now known as the Bluewater Inquiry Commission — calling for an inquiry into the Bluewater District School Board, has received a letter from Premier Dalton McGuinty’s office.
The commission is made up of the nine signatories from various education groups that called for the Premier to establish an inquiry.
Commission member Lesa McDougall says the letter simply acknowledges the earlier correspondence and if there are any further concerns to contact the education ministry.
McDougall says they’ve followed through on their plan by contacting the Ombudsman’s office with their concerns but they’re not quite sure what will happen there.
She says the ombudsman has no jurisdiction over school boards in Ontario–unlike other provinces that allow such a thing.
McDougall says they may have to take a step back and re-group what with a new education minister now heading the portfolio.
Former Agriculture Minister Leona Dombrowsky is now the new Education minister.
