A 17 year old girl from Collingwood will be the youngest member of the Olympic team we’re sending to Whistler for the games next month.
Palmer Taylor is one of three Canadian competitors in the half-pipe.
Taylor calls being named to the 2010 team a “dream come true”.
Taylor grew up in Welland, but moved to the Collingwood area four years ago.
Currently, she’s in Alberta for a world cup event this weekend, but will continue her training out west until the start of the games.
Taylor tells a Niagara-based newspaper she was first on skis when she was about 18 months old, and that her family spent every winter weekend driving to Collingwood to ski.
Now, she spends her time training and competing right around the world.
Last summer, she was at events in Switzerland and New Zealand.
