It was a dream of a lifetime and now it has come true, at the age of 79.
Owen Sound resident Robert Walker first became one of the oldest student pilots to obtain his pilot licence.
Now he has achieved yet another success by getting his Recreational Pilot Permit.
Walker received that after completing extensive training at the Wiarton Aviation Centre.
He says it always his dream to learn to fly, but it was something he kept putting off until finally after his retirement he decided the time was right.
Walker admits ground school for him was a bit of a struggle but he kept plugging away and kept saying one of these days he was going to write the exam.
He says it was quite an experience learning to fly and now enjoys himself by flying in and around the Grey Bruce Area.
