It’s a weekend to celebrate the season in Sauble Beach.
It is the 31st annual Sauble Beach Winterfest and it runs Friday and Saturday.
Events Co-ordinator Shane Sargant says there is something for everyone to take part in.
The festival starts with the torchlight parade at 7 PM with the snow riders snowmobile association.
There is also the Christmas tree burning bonfire at the community centre grounds lighting at 7:30 PM.
Plenty for the kids to do Friday night with a youth dance at the community centre starting at 8 PM — as well as a movie night for kids too young for the dance running at the community centre as well.
Sargant says a whole day of events are planned — with the cross country and snow shoe trails open offering free hot dogs and cider.
The pancake breakfast runs at 8 AM at the community centre as well as a euchre tournament starting at noon.
Then for the kids there is outdoor games running at the community centre grounds starting at noon as well.
Snow golf is running at 1:30 PM — please bring your own club.
Sargant says another popular event is the Diesel Dan Memorial Hockey Tournament starting at the community centre at 10 AM.
New this year is Winterlicious at the Sauble Dunes restaurant starting at 4 PM — featuring a wine and beer tasting.
Sargant says this will bring an event to the dinner hour before the dance at the community centre starting at 9 PM.
Sargant says the weather looks good and hopes people from across the region will attend the event.
