The Owen Sound Fire Department has issued charges after a house fire.
The fire department was called to an east side home Tuesday night to extinguish a fire in the kitchen after cooking was left unattended — the couple escaped unharmed.
But the home was not equipped with a working smoking alarm and the owner has been charged with “failure to install a smoke alarm.”
The fine is 235 dollars.
It’s the second fine handed out by the Owen Sound fire department in the last week.
