Grey County OPP have now released the name of the man who died in a two vehicle crash southwest of Owen Sound.
56 year old Wayne McCausland of Grey Highlands was the driver of the pick up truck that collided with a mid sized delivery truck around 7 PM Tuesday.
Police say the delivery truck was travelling south on Concession 5 when it collided with McCausland’s pick up travelling east on Grey Road 16 near Keady.
McCausland died from injuries sustained.
McCausland was very involved in the farming community in Grey Bruce.
He worked at Penner Farm Services in Tara and also helped organize the 2004 International Plowing Match in Grey County.
Ray Robertson at the Grey Agricultural Services Centre says McCausland was always willing to lend a helping hand to farmers.
Robertson notes McCausland was also involved with many farm groups and programs.
An emotional Robertson says “Wayne will be missed.”
Two men in the delivery truck were treated for injuries at the Owen Sound hospital.
The investigation continues and police are hoping for anyone with information to call the Grey County OPP detachment at 519-794-7827.
