Bluewater School board trustees will consider a request from the Chair of the Board, and the Education Director to approve a trip to South Korea.
The trip is designed to create a partnership next summer for 4 to 6 weeks, where South Korean teachers would come to West Grey and learn english.
West Grey would billet the visitors and the board of education would provide programming.
Board Chair Jennifer Yenssen says it would create some a few jobs for teachers in the Bluewater system with the cost recovered from the Koreans.
The issue of the trip in February comes to the board meeting on Tuesday.
Yenssen says all expenses in South Korea would be picked up by their hosts.
She plans to use money from her trustee professional development budget, while Mary Anne Alton’s flight would be paid for with money from the Council of Ontario Directors of Education.
Yenssen says the direct cost to the Bluewater board would be next to nothing, since those funds would have been spent elsewhere.
