The Premier is promoting four new faces to the Ontario cabinet and dropping three veterans in one of his largest shakeups ever.
One of the new faces is Huron Bruce Liberal MPP Carol Mitchell.
She will become the Agriculture Minister and replace Leona Dombrowsky — who will take over as Education Minister from Kathleen Wynne who becomes Transportation Minister.
Up until now — Mitchell had been Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Health and was a member of a government health-care task force.
Brad Duguid is the new minister of energy and infrastructure.
Attorney General Chris Bentley will add Duguid’s old aboriginal affairs portfolio to his duties.
Jim Bradley moves from transportation to municipal affairs and housing.
Markham’s Michael Chan takes over tourism and culture.
North Bay’s Monique Smith moves from tourism to become government house leader and minister of intergovernmental affairs.
Dwight Duncan remains in finance, John Wilkinson stays in revenue and Deb Matthews in health.
Among those dropped from cabinet include former consumer minister Ted McMeekin, former natural resources minister Donna Cansfield and former culture minister Aileen Carroll.
