Rebuilding the Grey-Bruce County Line intersection at Scone will have to wait until 2011.
Bruce County Engineer Brian Knox says the complication is the major reconstruction project planned for Chesley’s main street this year because detours for that project will have to use the Scone intersection.
Knox is very pleased with the costs he’s seen for the Chesley project.
Originally estimated at about one million dollars — it will instead be around 900 thousand.
Knox says a contractor who has done work good work in Bruce and Grey counties before is behind the lower cost.
The Highways Committee has recommended that County Council give the work pre-budget approval.
As for when shovels get in the ground in Chesley this year — Knox says it depends on the weather.
He notes final details and pre-construction meetings still have to be held, but he hopes work can begin as soon as the weather allows.
