As Habitat for Humanity wraps up its current project in Wiarton — the Grey Bruce agency is looking to the future.
Director of Construction Operations Al MacDonald says they’ve moved three families into the Wiarton build and hope to move the fourth one in by the summer.
He says they still need to complete the drywall, exterior and landscaping and will be looking for more volunteers for that by the end of February.
MacDonald says they’ve also got plans to build a single family home this year on a lot they’ve had in Owen Sound for some time.
But he says their five year strategic plan involves five new builds every year in Grey Bruce by 2012.
MacDonald says they have plans for a four unit condo near Owen Sound next year that would house eight families.
He says along with their building target goes an aggressive fundraising initiative that will require 3.5 million dollars over the next five years.
As part of the plan — Habitat for Humanity has also hired a full time fund development manager.
