The new CEO of Bruce Telecom is starting the new year off with a lot on his plate.
Eric Dobson took over from Michael Andrews back in December following a stint with Rogers Communications as Senior Vice President of Business and Carrier Services.
Dobson tells Bayshore Broadcasting News there are two key things he will focus on as the new top dog; profitablity and competition.
Dobson says it’s no secret the company is dealing with a budget shortfall of about half a million dollars for 2009.
With that in mind the company will work on fixing that problem however possible through cost containment.
Dobson says its too early to say whether that will mean job losses but doesn’t promise anything.
He does however feels straight forward methods of looking at what is spent will turn things around.
Dobson says they’ll also try to expand on products plans for television, internet and telephone and deal with new competition in all cases.
His first day on the job was last Monday.
