Bruce County’s Corporate Services Committee will take another look at insurance costs.
In December, two quotes were received — one for over 575 thousand dollars, and the other for over 721 thousand.
And that would mean a 50 to 100 per cent premium increase.
Warden Mike Smith says they asked for quotes through the Request For Proposal (RFP) process with a very short time period of only a month.
Smith notes they only got the two replies — so they’re going to try again.
Smith says the committee will receive a report later this month from the Corporate Services Department on how to proceed.
He notes the coverage with their existing provider has been extended until the process is complete.
