Owen Sound police are searching for a lone male… who held up an electronics store at the east end of the city.
It happened around 8:30 PM Wednesday.
He was all in black — wearing a black winter coat, black pants, black gloves and a black balaclava.
He had a hood up over the balaclava and carried a dark coloured back pack.
The white male was in his late teens or early twenties, about 5 foot 7 inches tall with a medium build.
Police say he walked into the store in the 1900 block of 16th street east, and went directly to a shelf that contained several PlayStation Go (PSPgo) systems.
An employee saw the suspect put one of the systems into his back pack.
When approached, the male grabbed the employee by the shirt, said not to mess with him and motioned towards his pocket as if he had a weapon although one was not seen or produced.
The employee was not injured.
The suspect grabbed six more PSPgo systems before running out of the store.
Employees last saw the male running west across the parking lot towards 18th Avenue East.
Owen Sound Police Officers responded immediately to the scene and were able to follow footprints in the snow to a wooded area near the Hospital.
They discovered the back pack with the stolen Playstations in it.
A search for the suspect turned up nothing.
Anyone with information on the identity of the male is asked to contact the Owen Sound Police Service at 519-376-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
