A couple of grant announcements from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Huron Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell was first in Ripley on Tuesday to make them.
That’s where she offered eighteen thousands dollar to the Ripley – Huron Royal Canadian Legion Branch 440.
The funds will be used to pay for among other things roof upgrades to the facility which is used for hosting a variety of community events.
The second cash infusion was offered in Walkerton to the Kinsmen Club.
Mitchell announced it would receive a 25 thousand dollar grant to help organize the first annual Midwestern Ontario Sportsman Show.
In a release, Mitchell said the tourism sector is essential to the success of the
Bruce County economy and that showing support to events like this aids in that.
The first ever show is scheduled for June 4th to 6th of this year as part of a year long celebration fo 75 years for the Walkerton Kinsmen Club at the Walkerton Community Complex.
It will feature a wide variety of fishing, hunting, outdoor sports and motorized exhibitors; while net proceeds from the show will be used to support community initiatives.
