Another local cold case getting a new lease on life thanks to the launch of a new OPP website.
Police have re-issued the details of the murder of 26 year old Greg Lembke of West Grey who was shot in the head back in 1992.
His body was found on January 4th lying in a bush lot near Mount Forest.
The shotgun was found in a ditch a short distance away three months later.
The crime remains unsolved.
With the launch of an unsolved crimes website in the fall — the OPP have found it to be a useful investigative tool.
Detective Constable Paul Johnston says they’re able to post details, maps, pictures and old newspaper articles about cold cases that may help to jog people’s memories.
There is also a 50 thousand dollar reward being offered to anyone with information leading to a conviction in the Lembke murder case.
Johnston says they reissue the details of cold cases from time to time — hoping that circumstances have changed for someone who has information — and they now feel as if they can come forward.
He says there’s also a spot at the bottom of the website where tips can be emailed.
However if someone wants to give information anonymously — there is also information for Crime Stoppers.
