If your Grade 7 to Grade 12 student is feeling bored during this holiday break — get them to make a movie.
The first ever Owen Sound Youth Film Festival is looking for submissions.
Children and Youth Services Librarian for the Owen Sound Library Nadia Danyluk says this is a great opportunity for youth to show their creativity.
Danyluk says the Library is hosting the event and is looking for Owen Sound students grades 7 thru 12 to submit short films.
The entries must be no longer than 10-minutes and can be live action or animated.
Danyluk says the films will then be entered in the festival which will run February 4th at 7 PM at the Library Auditorium.
Danyluk says this is a great opportunity for students to show their work to a larger audience and to be judged by professionals.
The judging panel will consist of three local judges and three judges from the Toronto area – all experienced in the film industry.
Danyluk says students can submit either new pieces of work or films they have already made.
Students have until January 8th for their submissions.
Interested applicants can pick up their application form at the library or they can download from the Teen Buzz section of the library website at www.owensound.library.on.ca
