An idea has been floated that a fee would be implemented to take a walk on the track of the new Hanover regional recreation complex.
Councillor Sue Patterson is not happy with the idea.
The indoor walking track is one of the key features of the 8.8 million dollar facility which is currently under construction.
Patterson says a public facility should be open to everyone without any fees.
Instead, Patterson thinks a donation box for the upkeep of the track would be a much better idea.
Councillor Rick Hopkins — a member of the Recreation Advisory Committee — says it’s just an idea and nothing is set in stone.
He notes the Recreation Committee will look at what other municipalities do with similar walking tracks.
