Plenty to do in Owen Sound for New Year’s Eve.
The city is hosting two separate parties tonight.
Owen Sound Event co ordinator Doug Cleverley says ‘Rock the Coliseum’ is for teens 13 to 16.
The evening includes everything from video games and Nintendo Wii to skating and a dance party til Midnight.
Doors open at 7 PM. Admission is 5 dollars.
Cleverley says parents can rest easy sending their teens to the event.
They’ll have two security guards on duty as well as adult supervision.
Police will also be patrolling the parking lot and bags are checked at the door.
The other party hosted by the city is being held at the Bayshore Community Centre from 6 PM to 9 PM for the entire family.
It includes skating, glow in the dark mini golf, Klash the Clown, crafts and other entertainment.
The highlight of the evening is the early balloon drop at 9 PM for those young and old who may not see midnight.
Admission is by donation.
Owen Sound will also be operating free transit service from 8 PM until 2 AM
In Durham — the Firefighters Association is holding a New Years Eve Dance at the arena with bus service from Mount Forest, Hanover and Markdale.
