2009 was a good year for the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board.
In his annual Director’s Report, Bruce MacPherson says the Catholic Board celebrated a lot of achievements over the year.
Not only were there academic success through EQAO test results and literacy programs but also great progress made in the Boards Strategic Plan.
2009 also saw the completion of the St. Marys High School addition and the start of the St. Peters & Pauls addition.
Another year highlight involved the Board hosting the Diocesan Celebration this Fall.
Two bishops and 600 educators from the six Catholic School Boards within the Hamilton Diocese attending the event.
MacPherson hopes 2010 will be as kind to the Catholic School Board.
He says the provinces revamping of the elementary curriculum in the upcoming year is sure to keep life interesting in 2010.
MacPherson says the Catholic Board will closely monitoring the changes to ensure anything new that comes forward will tie into the Boards strategic plan.
This will involve a lot of work, fortunately MacPherson says staff and trustees are up to the challenge and will work together to put students first.
