Flu clinics resume in some southwestern Ontario communities this week following the Christmas break.
Both H-1-N-1 and seasonal vaccines will be offered today in Owen Sound at the Grey Bruce Health Unit — by appointment only by calling 376-9420 or 1-800-263-3456.
Shots will be given, with an appointment, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Owen Sound office on 17th Street East.
Two other H1-N1 and Seasonal flu clinic will be held January 5th — also by appointment only.
One clinic will be at the Grey Bruce Health unit office in Owen Sound and the other at the Health Unit office in Walkerton on Park Street.
H1N1 flu vaccine and Seasonal flu vaccine is also available through some physicians and nurse practitioners and some workplaces.
The head of the World Health Organization warns that the swine-flu pandemic isn’t over yet.
Doctor Margaret Chan does say the worst of the swine flu outbreak is over in Canada, the United States and some other parts of the northern hemisphere.
But she says there is still intensive flu activity in Egypt, India and elsewhere.
