The Olympic Torch is getting close to arriving in Grey Bruce tomorrow.
Leading up to its visit in Owen Sound, the Festival of Northern Lights Committee has organized an afternoon of family fun.
Olympic Torch Media Chair John Prettie says the events will be centred around activities at the Winter Games — such as skating, skiing and tobogganing.
Events get under way at 1 PM.
Meanwhile the final preparations are being made for the torch’s arrival tomorrow.
It’ll make its way through Grey Bruce and into Owen Sound after 6 PM Monday.
A day full of events are planned in every community where the torch passes through.
In Owen Sound — the celebrations begin at 1 PM Monday in front of the library culminating in the evening with lighting of the cauldron at City hall by Jason Crone.
The torch arrives in Mount Forest, Durham, Hanover, Walkerton at 2:30 PM, Kincardine at 3:59 PM, in Port Elgin at 5:01 PM and in Southampton at 5:48 PM; followed by Saugeen First Nation and then Owen Sound at 6:30 PM.
