Hanover has set a date for the grand opening of its new Regional Recreation Complex Centre.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on the first weekend of October.
The grand opening will coincide with the ice season.
Councillor and Project Management Committee Chair Bob White says the town plans to make a day of it with figure skating, ringette and hockey games.
Meanwhile work on the Regional Recreation Complex has hit a few bumps.
The recent stormy weather has delayed work on the roof, causing a project setback.
If the weather cooperates, White says the entire structure could be enclosed by Christmas.
In the meantime 80 per cent of all the masonry and outside work on the project is complete.
Once the roof is on — work will begin on the refrigeration unit for the ice rink.
White is pleased with how well the project is coming together and says the entire project should wrap up by early August.
The 8.8 million dollar facility will feature an NHL sized ice rink, a walking track and an auditorium.
