Hanover is working hard on its Accessibility Plan.
10 year old Natalie McDonald believes she has something important to contribute to Hanover’s Accessibility Plan.
The Hanover Heights student wants to serve as an advisor to the town as it prepares it’s provincially mandated Accessibility Plan.
McDonald was diagnosed at the age of 2 with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a type of Muscular Dystrophy and depends on her power wheelchair for mobility.
McDonald believes she has an important voice to bring to the table.
She says she has lots of practical advice on how to make Hanover more accessible.
Mayor Kathy Maskell welcomes McDonald’s input — and notes who knows better what’s needed than those coping with a disability.
McDonald is a busy advocate for those like her and is currently working hard to raise Canadian Tire Dollars for Easter Seals.
Its her dream to become an Easter Seals Ambassador.
But for now shes more than content to help Hanover become more accessible for everyone.
