A Meaford man faces charges after assaulting a cab driver in Kitchener.
The incident occurred on Highway 8 early Sunday morning and the OPP allege the taxi driver was being verbally assaulted by his fare.
Police say the driver pulled over once but the customer wouldn’t get out.
The cabbie then pulled over a second time and both parties exited the vehicle when the customer started hitting and punching the driver.
The OPP arrived on the scene to find the driver injured and the K-9 unit was dispatched to look for the suspect.
31 year old Jesse Reed was found a short while later and charged with assault causing bodily harm.
The cab driver was taken to hospital to be treated for facial injuries.
