Saugeen Shores is expected to be a sea of red and white today.
The municipality and Olympic Torch Relay Committee are encouraging residents to wear the two colours in honour of the torch passing through Port Elgin and Southampton.
Relay Committee Public Relations Spokesperson Ed Nanni says they first promoted the idea back on November 10th during an assembly at Saugeen District Secondary School.
Nanni says they told elementary and high school students about the planned day then.
He says they hope residents will embrace the idea and wear red and white to work or school.
The torch makes its way through Port Elgin at approximately 5:01 PM and around 5:37 PM in Southampton on Monday, December 28th.
Celebrations start at 5:30 PM at the Plex in Port Elgin.
