The Owen Sound Family Y has put together its team to fundraise 5 million dollars for the new regional recreation centre.
Long time aquatic centre advocate Doctor Tom Rice and YMCA veteran Sonya Mount will spearhead the 10 person team.
The Family Y has committed to raise five million dollars for the 38 million dollar facility.
22 million will be covered through stimulus funding from the provincial and federal governments.
The newrec centre will to be built at Victoria Park.
It will include an eight lane 25-metre swimming pool, a therapy pool, two NHL-sized ice rinks, a fitness centre, a running track and a gymnasium.
