The court case of former MP Rahim Jaffer — the husband of Simcoe Grey MP Helena Guergis — has been put over again.
This time it’s until January 14th.
Jaffer is facing cocaine possession and drunk driving charges after he was arrested and charged in Palgrave in September.
Jaffer’s lawyer Howard Rubel says he expects to be able to set a trial date in the near future.
The 37 year old Jaffer was MP for the riding of Edmonton-Strathcona from 1997 until he was defeated in last year’s election.
During the campaign, Jaffer approved radio ads which supported drug-free schools and getting tough with drug dealers.
