Brocktons mayor is upset with the municipality of South Bruce.
Charlie Bagnato says South Bruce has unfairly left the taxpayers of Brockton, Hanover, West Grey and Arran Elderslie to shoulder its 15 thousand dollar debt to the Saugeen Mobility and Regional Transit disability bus service.
South Bruce pulled out of the Disability Service last March but continued to receive services to its residents till October.
Despite this Bagnato says South Bruce is only willing to pay three thousand of its 18 thousand dollar bill.
The outstanding 15 thousand is now being absorbed by the remaining member municipalities of the disability transportation service.
Bagnato says this worked out to be a 4 thousand dollar increase for Brockton raising its share in the 280 thousand dollar budget to 66 thousand dollars.
Because of this, the Saugeen Mobility and Regional Transit service is no longer offered to South Bruce residents.
Bagnato calls this concerning saying there are many people particularly seniors who relied on the service.
South Bruce has issue with the apportionment formula for the disability service budget and claims its share of the assets should cover the cost of its 15 thousand dollar bill.
The Saugeen Mobility and Regional Transit service operates a 280 thousand dollar budget.
