South Bruce Peninsula Council is taking steps to restore co-operation.
Council has voted in favour of bringing in assistance from Municipal Affairs.
Minister of Municipal Affairs Jim Watson sent a letter to Council last week stating he will arrange for a facilitator to assist the municipality in resolving their strained relationships.
In the letter — Watson also says he has been made aware that council has not acted on the recommendations made in early September by two municipal affairs experts — Nigel Bellchamber and Fred Dean.
Both suggested Council and staff complete training session on their roles, that the procedural bylaw be reviewed and that a mentor is brought in to move meetings along.
Mayor Gwen Gilbert says the facilitator will address all three of those recommendations as well as their strained relationship.
Gilbert says she does not know when the facilitator will be coming to council but she hopes it will be sooner rather than later.
Public feuding between the Mayor and Members of Council has been ongoing since August — and most recently resulted in the OPP being called to a meeting.
