A few changes for some businesses in downtown Port Elgin.
First off, Bruce County Clothing is into it’s final days after being in town since 1986.
Manager Elaine Pilar says the business has been for sale but no one has bought it.
Pilar says her last day will be December 24th, after that, it will unfortunately shut down and not re-open under new management.
She’s choosing to spend more time with her family and leaves the business behind after owning if for more than six years and working at it for almost 10 years.
Huge discounts at the store will be offered now through the final day storewide.
Five part time people will lose their jobs on Christmas Eve.
Elsewhere, the ownership of Scoreboard Sports is changing hands.
Brad and Jamie Tieman take over from the Gills January 5, 2010, who have owned it for 15 years, though are in now learning the ropes.
Meanwhile renovations are also taking place at Wardrop Pharmasave.
A change in ownership took place earlier this year, when Trevor Wardrop stepped aside, and Rob Rogers took over.
Rogers also has the Pharmasave store in Kincardine.
Rogers says the goal is to offer a new look and a newly expanded prescription area for customers as they focus more on that end of the business.
He says they will also offer trendier lines in gift, jewellery and skin care collections, offering limited hair and make up products.
Renovations visible to staff should be complete by Christmas.
