The MP for Bruce Grey Owen Sound is all smiles as China has re-opened its borders to imports of Canadian pork.
Larry Miller calls it great news for pork producers as China is one of the largest markets in the world.
Miller says it will help bring profitability back to the Canadian pork sector now that they have access to a 50 million dollar a year market.
The huge Chinese market was closed to Canadian pork products in May after the H1N1 flu virus was found in pigs on an Alberta farm.
Miller adds pork is very popular throughout Asia and the Chinese market is the largest market there.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has stressed repeatedly that eating pork does not pose a flu threat.
