Plows graced some highways in our region for the first time this morning.
With that in mind, municipal officials remind residents of the various by-laws in place across the region with regards to street parking and snow removal.
In Southampton, parking is not allowed on any street now through March between the hours of 2 AM and 8 AM and in Port Elgin between the hours of 2 AM and 7 AM.
Also in Kincardine today — there is no street parking from 3 AM to 6 AM until April 1st.
In both cases vehicles obstructing traffic or interfering with snow removal operations will either be issued a ticket or removed at the owner’s expense.
In Owen Sound, there is no parking on city streets December 1st to March 31st between the hours of 1 AM and 7 AM.
There, vehicle owners caught dis-obeying will receive a thirty dollar parking ticket and may have their vehicle towed at their expense.
