There’s a new lookout in Kincardine — and you have the chance to name it.
The new bridge over the Penetangore River on Huron Terrace is set to open for traffic any day now, and it features a 14 foot-wide lookout.
The municipality’s Culture, Heritage, and Tourism Committee is running a contest to name the new lookout.
They’re hoping for a name with a historical theme – Paddy’s Porch has been suggested because of Kincardine’s first settler Paddy Walker, whose tavern still stands nearby.
The hope is that the lookout becomes a popular place to watch boats, sunsets, or listen to the Phantom Piper on summer evenings.
Entries will be accepted in-person at the municipal office, or on the municipal website at www.kincardine.net
