Santa Claus is going to be busy today as he will be making appearances in several communities in the region.
First there is the annual Santa Claus parade in Markdale that begins at 1 PM.
Afterwards — Old Saint Nick will meet with children at the Walter Harris Memorial Library.
Then it’s off to Wasaga Beach for another parade at 2 PM.
Then Port Elgin will host its annual Santa Claus parade where the theme this year is “A Candy Cane Christmas”.

Hunt says the theme coincides with the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Saugeen Shores on December 28th and the red and white colour.
This year residents are encouraged to bring canned food for the food bank – collected by Thorncrest Outfitters.
Residents are also asked to bring donations for the 98 the Beach “Lids for Kids” program, by which area kids who need warm winter hats will receive one.
The parade begins at 7 PM.
The Brockton Santa Claus Parade is tonight too.
It takes the traditional route in Walkerton along Durham Street through to May Street and also starts at 7 PM.
Visiting with Santa takes place before the Parade at the Walkerton Public Library between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM.
After the parade free public skating will take place at the Horse Palace from 8 PM until 9:30 PM.
