Two Owen Sound residents — including a baby girl — are dead following a two vehicle collision on Highway 10 between Dundalk and Shelburne.
The crash occurred around 8 PM Tuesday.
Police say a southbound car veered into the northbound lane in the path of a northbound vehicle — and the two cars collided.
As a result of the crash five people were rushed to hospitals in Orangeville and Markdale.
Two passengers in the southbound car — a one year old baby girl and her mother from Owen Sound — succumbed to their injuries.
The babys father was the driver and is being treated in hospital for non life threatening injuries.
The two occupants of the northbound car are also being treated for non life threatening injuries.
Names of the deceased are being withheld until next of kin have been notified.
Police are continuing to investigate.
The Highway was closed for 10 hours while the police probe was underway.
The Highway has since been re-opened.
