The Mayor of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula still does not have access to her office at town hall.
And now she no longer has access to her computer files.
South Bruce Peninsula Council voted in favour of a motion which does not allow Mayor Gwen Gilbert to walk in and access files on her computer in Town Hall.
The motion brought forward by Councillor Betty Hall passed by a vote of 7-1 at Monday night’s meeting.
Gilbert is not sure when she will move back into her office space in Town Hall.
Gilbert says she is content working from home and is in the process of getting a new Blackberry — and she will charge the expenses back to the town.
Gilbert believes it is important to have access to her constituents and be able to hear their concerns.
She adds all business will be conducted through her home and her door is open to the public.
Council forced the Mayor to vacate her office after she failed to produce a report on a discussion she had with the Municipal Affairs Minister at the AMO conference.
In a letter — Councillor Dan Kerr says he expects to work productively with the Mayor but is still wondering why she has not produced the requested report.
