Collingwood is enlisting the help of its neighbours to attract a post-secondary school to the area.
Council has voted unanimously Monday night to support a regional committee involving members from area councils and staff.
Councillor Mike Edwards sits on the economic stability board and says involving Wasaga Beach, the Blue Mountains and Clearview Township is a step in the right direction.
Edwards says a regional partnership has worked in other parts of the province.
He says the committee is in the process of starting meetings to look at bringing a college or university to the area.
Edwards adds it’s important to have input from Collingwood’s neighbours because the post-secondary school could go in any of the area communities.
