A Walkerton baby boy is in critical condition after being assaulted.
South Bruce OPP say the 19 month old’s mother returned home early Saturday night to find her baby in medical distress.
She took him to hospital in Walkerton and he was then airlifted to London where he continues to be treated for critical injuries.
Medical officials involved in his care contacted South Bruce OPP who began an investigation.
Just before midnight Sunday, officers arrested a man at a rural residence in Elgin County.
The suspect was involved in a short term common-law relationship with the baby’s mother and had been living with her in Walkerton on the date of the incident.
27 year old Terry Lee Clarkson of Walkerton is currently charged with
Aggravated Assault.
